Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Join our team as a Financial Analyst 3, where you will provide critical financial, administrative, and project support for the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine's Sales & Service unit. Primary duties include:

Submit and review annual Sales & Service fee schedules and fund applications.

Monitor expenditures against operating budgets and generate financial reports.

Process monthly reconciliations, journals, recharges, and billing for internal and external clients.

Approve lab order requests and justify equipment purchases.

Assist in drafting contracts, preparing budgets, and implementing new workflows.

Provide financial insights, prepare invoices, and manage billing summaries.

Support fiscal year-end closing and audit financial documents for compliance.

Train new employees and contribute to special projects as needed.

Salary Range: $76,200.00 - $158,800.00/year. Note: the department’s targeted salary range is: $76,200.00 – $83,000.00/year.


Job Qualifications

Knowledgeable in using Microsoft Suite, with a strong proficiency in Excel.

Mathematical and budgeting skills to forecast and resolve complex financial problems.

Strong attention to detail. 

Resourceful with ability to troubleshoot problems.

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as computer entry.

Must be able to report to work on-site (Westwood, Los Angeles) for a minimum of 3 days/week during first six months of hire.

Not required, but a bonus if you are familiar with:

UCLA Corporate Financial Services systems (e.g., Recharge System, Transfer of Funds, Non-Payroll Expenditure Adjustment, Financial Journal), QDB/AFCPL.

Experience in using Tableau.
