Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Provide administrative and patient care support to assigned clinic in the Department of Medicine/Division of Dermatology.

  •  Assist in coordinating patient flow throughout the clinic, from registration to discharge.  
  • Ensure patients are scheduled via the incoming referrals work queue within established scheduling guidelines.  
  • Able to collect copays, deductibles, or fee for services accurately, and follow cash handling guidelines for the closing and deposit of cash drawers. 
  • Work as a member of the Ambulatory Care clinic team to provide smooth outpatient flow resulting in optimum patient satisfaction and clinic operation
Salary Range: $26.42 - $37.49/hrly

Job Qualifications

Required: 

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize assignments.

  •  Skill in efficiently and accurately facilitating the appointment making process, including transportation arrangements and maintain sub-specialty physician schedules. 

  •  Excellent cash handling skills, ensuring co-pay collections and cash drawers are maintained follow University set standards.

  •  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate multiple appointments with staff from many clinical services at the UCLA Medical Center.

  • Skill in using a PC with associated programs including Word, Excel, and Email.

  • Demonstrate work experience and knowledge with a database computer program.

  •  Knowledge of major medical insurance plans and types of coverage provided.
  • Working knowledge of Care Connect  system to complete on-line transactions, including appointment scheduling, procedure scheduling, the encounter registration system, hospital lab results and medical reports
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Travel to SM and Westwood locations as needed
