Primary Duties and Responsibilities

UCLA West Valley Medical Center is seeking to hire an Assistant Food Services Manager to join the Department of Nutrition. In this role, you will assist with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department. 

Primary duties include:

  • Participating in the hiring process and training of new staff
  • Supervising staff
  • Tracking of employees schedule and performance
  • Investigating and responding to customer feedback and suggestions
  • Tracking food waste and monitoring portion control
  • Ensure guests are having a positive experience
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, policies, laws, and ordinance
  • Other supervisory duties assigned



Salary Range: $28.30-$54.74 Hourly

Job Qualifications

Required:
  • Active ServSafe certification.
  • Minimum 1 year of foodservice experience, supervisory experience, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Skill in supervising culturally diverse food service personnel.
  • Ability to lead, supervise, and mentor staff.
  • Must be knowledgeable of, and adhere to all policies as outlined by JCAHO, HACCP, University, and Hospital standards.
  • Computer to skills to operate food management systems in place, and to generate memos and reports.
  • Knowledge of retail operations such as station setup, replenishment, merchandising and inventory procedures.
  • Ability to stand, bend, walk, reach, lift, push and pull for prolonged periods of time in hot or cold areas.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull 50+lbs.
  • Ability to work around or use strong cleaning solutions.
