Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the Operations Manager and Clinical Director, the Ambulatory Care Administration Supervisor 1 oversees daily front desk operations and provides leadership to the administrative team within the Department of Radiation Oncology. Key responsibilities include supervising front office staff, supporting physicians and clinical teams, and ensuring efficient scheduling, registration, insurance and authorization processing, and patient navigation.

The incumbent will promote clear and professional communication across all levels, foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, and support the development and growth of staff to align with departmental goals and maintain strong morale.

Salary: $5,733.33 - $11,750 monthly 

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical, and academic personnel.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with staff, physicians, administrators, patients, and visitors.
  • Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are changes in assignment, pressures of deadlines, competing requirements, and heavy workload.
  • Oral and written communication skills, plus knowledge of medical terminology to convey information clearly to patients, faculty, and staff.
  • Working knowledge of patient-related policies and procedures, as well as thorough understanding of the University system.
  • Working knowledge of various types of various third party payers (PPO, POS, managed care, Medicare, Medicaid, pre-authorization, pre-certification, workmen’s comp, etc.)
  • Ability to deal with patients, referring physicians, clinic staff, insurance companies, the media, government agencies, and other groups in a professional, diplomatic, and compassionate manner via the telephone or in person.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills including hiring, training, evaluating performance, counseling, initiating corrective action, detecting personnel action, delegating responsibility, and organizing workflow to accomplish established objectives
