Primary Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a certified Health Information Coder to join our BURL Clinical Laboratory Pre-Billing team. In this role, you will play a key part in managing and resolving pre-billing work queues by applying your expertise in pathology and laboratory coding. You’ll ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in coding processes while collaborating with clinical staff and physicians to support timely billing. Key duties include:

• Review charges for discrepancies and missing CPT/ICD-10 codes; assign accurate codes. 

• Apply in-depth knowledge of AHA Coding Clinics, AMA CPT Assistant guidelines, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathological treatment procedures, ensuring compliance with all applicable coding guidelines, regulations, and payer policies.

• Collaborate with physicians and staff to resolve coding and billing issues.

Salary Range: $40.04/hour - $52.83/hour


Job Qualifications

• CPC certification from AAPC (or equivalent national accreditation).
• Minimum 3 years of certified, professional experience in coding. 
• Coding experience within a laboratory and pathology setting preferred.
