The MRI Hospital Assistant II supports technologists by preparing MRI rooms, managing workflow, stocking supplies and safely transporting patients within the Radiology Department. You will assist with patient positioning, set up of Power Injectors and use of the Radiology Information System while ensuring a clean and safe work environment. We expect that you support MR-guided interventional procedures, including setting up sterile trays, assisting with cryo tumor ablation systems and monitoring gas levels. All duties are performed under the direct supervision of the MR Manager and Lead MR Technologists, with a focus on patient care, safety and efficient departmental operations.
Salary Range: $23.78 - $31.42 Hourly
Senate Bill 525 was signed into law by Governor Newsom in October 2023. Starting July 1, 2025, SB525 sets a new $24 minimum wage for nonexempt healthcare workers and raises the exempt employee salary threshold to $1,440/week (equivalent to $6,240/month or $74,880/year).
1. As defined under SB525, healthcare workers are defined as employees who are involved in the provision of “health care services,” which means “patient care-related services including nursing; caregiving; services provided by medical residents, interns, or fellows; technical and ancillary services; janitorial work; housekeeping; grounds keeping; guard duties; business office clerical work; food services; laundry; medical coding and billing; call center and warehouse work; scheduling; and gift shop work; but only where such services support patient care”.
2. Employees (career, contract, student, per diem) in the UCLA Health medical facilities (e.g. Ronald Reagan Medical Center, Santa Monica UCLA Hospital, Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital, etc.) meet these criteria.
Job Qualifications

- BLS certificate from American Heart Association or American Red Cross – required
- Experience in the medical field, computer hospital information systems – preferred
- Ability to respond efficiently to expressed needs of referring services, physicians and patients
- Understands the requirement of EMTALA (Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act)
