Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 

Join our team as a Laboratory Technician 2 at the BURL Outreach Clinical Laboratory in Woodland Hills, where you'll play a pivotal role in our operations. Responsibilities include:

Preparing specimens for analysis 

Assisting in coordination of couriers and routes, including follow-ups on service delays

Performing phlebotomy on patients of all ages

Triage of all lab samples and requests after verifying appropriate information

Entering and verifying patient and test information into the computer

Generating computer labels for specimens and delivering them to appropriate areas

Preparing samples for transport to referral labs or storage

Documenting draws, added tests, and cancelled/rejected specimens


Salary Range: $32.77 - $43.22/hour

May be required to provide coverage as needed at all BURL locations including Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, Woodland Hills, Santa Clarita, Porter Ranch, Calabasas, Burbank, Century City, Encino, Panorama City, and Torrance.
 

 

 

Job Qualifications

A current, California Certified Phlebotomy Technician certification.

High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED or HiSET).

Minimum of 2 years of recent experience performing phlebotomy in a high-volume testing laboratory (post receiving CPT certificate).

Ability to work at other draw stations as needed (e.g. Panorama City, Torrance, Burbank, Encino, Calabasas, Westlake Village, Woodland Hills, Porter Ranch, Thousand Oaks, and Century City).

Availability to work weekends, holidays and other shifts as needed.

Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.

Skill in performing related computer procedures (LIS, HIS).

Knowledgeable in quality assurance practices, preferred.
