Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Immunohistochemistry Lab is seeking a Per Diem Hospital Laboratory Technician to support evening operations. In this role, you will assist with specimen processing and lab support functions to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic services. Key responsibilities include:

Responding to customer inquiries and requests
Coordinating the send-out and receipt of specimens to and from reference laboratories
Assisting with overnight staining procedures
Delivering completed specimens to pathologists
Cleaning and maintaining laboratory work areas and equipment

Salary Range: $43.56/hour - $43.56/hour (flat rate)

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED or HiSET)

Strong customer service and communication skills

Proficiency with computer systems and data entry

Excellent time management and organizational abilities

Ability to work effectively under pressure, including frequent interruptions and heavy workloads

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and unexpected situations

Willingness and ability to work extended hours or shifts with short notice

Experience with Epic LIS, Leica BOND III, Dako Link, Thermo LabVision, and/or Sakura Prisma autostainers – preferred.
