Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Project Manager will lead and oversee critical initiatives related to the electronic health record (EHR) system and the supporting technology infrastructure for UCLA Health. This role ensures that all assigned projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and with high stakeholder satisfaction.

As a key strategic leader, the Project Manager will drive the successful deployment and implementation of EHR initiatives while maintaining strong collaboration across technical and business teams. This individual must have extensive project management expertise, including proficiency in creating and managing essential artifacts such as project charters, schedules, budgets, scope documents, and status reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Execution: Manage full project lifecycle to ensure efficiency, compliance, and timely delivery.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with technical engineers, operational business owners, and executive leadership.

  • Stakeholder Management: Foster strong relationships with business partners and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

  • Risk & Compliance Oversight: Proactively identify challenges and implement solutions to mitigate risks.

The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to drive innovation and process improvement while balancing technical and business priorities.

This flexible hybrid role allows for a blend of remote and on-site work, requiring presence on-site at least 10% of the time, within 48 hours notice of being asked to come on-site, and as needed based on operational requirements. Please note, travel to the “home office” location is not reimbursed. Each employee will complete a FlexWork Agreement with their manager to outline expectations and ensure mutual understanding. These arrangements are periodically reviewed and may be adjusted or terminated as necessary.

Salary offers are based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and internal equity. The full salary range for this position is $102,500 $227,700 annually. The University anticipates offering a salary between the minimum and midpoint of this range.

Job Qualifications

·        A Bachelors degree or equivalent experience that includes creating business requirements, project plans, project schedules and associated project materials

·        5+ years minimum experience in project management

·        Experience with supporting Electronic Medical Record (EMR) / Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementations from the application and infrastructure side

·        Expert understanding of project management and project management tools

·        Expert understanding of software development and infrastructure project lifecycles

·        Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments and delegate

·        Technical writing skills producing clear and unambiguous deliverables

·        Expert usage of MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio)

·        Excellent communication skills as related to project management strategy, schedules, tasks, deliverables, risks, and issues.

·        PMP preferred
