Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The ISS Project Manager will lead projects supporting UCLA Health’s electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring timely execution, budget adherence, and high stakeholder satisfaction. They will oversee project management artifacts (charters, schedules, budgets, etc.), collaborating with engineers, analysts, vendors, and leadership to implement strategic initiatives. 

This role requires that the Project Manager have the background and experience required to interact directly with strong technical engineers, technical management, application analysts, application vendors, operational business owners, and executive leadership. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Project Management: From vendor coordination to infrastructure setup, application deployment, user training, and go-live support.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Define project scope, manage deliverables, and align teams for successful execution.

  • Risk & Compliance Management: Track issues, mitigate risks, and ensure adherence to PMO standards.

  • Resource & Budget Oversight: Plan budgets, allocate resources, and monitor expenditures.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain schedules, reports, and key project artifacts for transparency.

  • Team Leadership: Build relationships, drive accountability, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

  • Process Improvement: Implement lessons learned and best practices to enhance efficiency.

This flexible hybrid role allows for a blend of remote and on-site work, requiring presence on-site at least 10% of the time, within 48 hours of being asked to come on-site, and as needed based on operational requirements. Please note, travel to the “home office” location is not reimbursed. Each employee will complete a FlexWork Agreement with their manager to outline expectations and ensure mutual understanding. These arrangements are periodically reviewed and may be adjusted or terminated as necessary.

Salary offers are based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and internal equity. The full salary range for this position is $92,600 $202,200 annually. The University anticipates offering a salary between the minimum and midpoint of this range.

Job Qualifications

·        A Bachelors degree or equivalent experience that includes creating business requirements, project plans, project schedules and associated project materials

·        5+ years minimum experience in project management including technology, infrastructure (ex: networks (wired, wireless, VPN, firewall), data center, facilities, servers, storage, databases, interfaces, endpoint engineering, Active Directory and cloud technology), and application integrations projects

·        Experience with supporting Electronic Medical Record (EMR) / Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementations (EPIC) from the application and infrastructure side, as well as ancillary applications and devices.

·        Expert understanding of project management and project management tools

·        Expert understanding of software development and infrastructure project lifecycles

·        Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments and delegate

·        Technical writing skills producing clear and unambiguous deliverables

·        Expert usage of MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio)

·        Excellent communication skills as related to project management strategy, schedules, tasks, deliverables, risks, and issues.

·        PMP preferred
