Primary Duties and Responsibilities

In this important position, you will be responsible for implementing an effective infection prevention program at the hospital level. This will involve educating healthcare providers, consulting with leadership and hospital staff, and implementing and communicating evidence-based infection prevention practices. In collaboration with physicians, department directors, and clinical staff, you will support infection prevention improvement projects across the hospital. You will also assist with the collection, analysis, and reporting of incidents of healthcare-associated infections as you enhance performance improvement and patient safety. In addition, you will be responsible for reporting all healthcare-associated infections within the hospital as required by regulatory agencies (e.g., DHS, CDPH, Cal-OSHA, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.) and monthly operating reports.


Salary: $96,200 -$202,200/annually

Job Qualifications

We’re seeking a deadline-driven, detail-oriented clinical leader with:

• Healthcare-related Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/training

• Master’s preferred

• Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC), highly desirable

• In-depth knowledge of the clinical and operational issues in infection control

• Understanding of data management, analysis, research, reporting, and documentation for infection control

• Strong organizational, prioritizing, and time-management abilities

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to serve as a subject matter expert on complex issues of functionality, clinical quality, efficiency, and program development.
