Primary Duties and Responsibilities

As a Phlebotomist with the Ronald Reagan Support Services Laboratory, your duties include:

Performs pre-analytical and post-analytical activities and specimen processing duties

Performs phlebotomy on inpatients and outpatients, including neonatal/pediatric patients; perform EKG in outpatient setting

Triage all lab samples and requests after verification of appropriate information

Enter and verify patient and test info into computer

Generate computer labels for specimens and deliver to appropriate areas

Prepare samples for transport to referral labs 

Document draws, added tests, and cancelled/rejected specimens 

 

Salary Range: $32.48 - $41.19/hour 

Job Qualifications

Current and valid California State CPT certificate

High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED or HiSET)

At least five(5) years of licensed phlebotomy experience in high volume hospital setting

Previous experience performing specimen processing in an acute care facility, highly preferred

Previous experience in EPIC, highly preferred

Knowledge of Clinical Lab test names and their abbreviated forms

Ability to multi-task with accuracy

Excellent time and organizational skills

Skill in using a computer and printer
