Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The position is responsible for handling medical equipment and supplies within the Materials Management Department at UCLA Health. Key responsibilities include receiving and delivering linen, supplies, and equipment; maintaining inventory locations and ensuring all work areas are clean and organized. This role also involves picking, packing, and staging orders for delivery; entering data and maintaining accurate inventory documentation; and performing physical inventory counts.

The individual in this role will also cross-train in other Logistics areas, including Receiving, Patient Transport, and Materials Management, to support departmental operations as needed.

Job Qualifications

  • Required to hold valid driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
  • Ability to operate a university vehicle to deliver supplies to multiple off-site locations.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to healthcare regulations for infection control.
  • Demonstrated high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management systems or supply chain and warehouse management software.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to Materials Management, Receiving, and UCLA policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to maintain positive working relationships across departments, using English effectively in both written and verbal formats.
  • Demonstrated good telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse environment with coworkers, patients, and family members in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs., or push/pull heavy transport carts.
  • Proficiency in using computers, mobile devices, fax machines, copiers, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to operate a 26-ft box truck, order picker, electric and manual pallet jacks, forklift, furniture dollies, supply dollies, heavy-duty transport carts, and other warehouse equipment.
