Primary Duties and Responsibilities

As our Performance Excellence Specialist, you will help advance operational and clinical improvement within the UCLA Health System by serving as a project manager, facilitator, consultant, analyst, coach and mentor. You’ll facilitate problem assessment, data compilation/analysis, team development, metrics design, and improvement implementation efforts. Using Lean, Value-Based Care Redesign and other approaches, you will support performance improvement while implementing the active daily management approach to sustain performance. You will support the continued execution and development of the UCLA ValU initiative, focusing on improving clinical outcomes, the patient experience, and reducing cost.   • To improve the patient experience by building continuous improvement skills throughout the organization via training and hands-on opportunities
  • Facilitate lean process improvement projects throughout UCLA Health

Salary Range: $102,500 - $227,700/annually

Job Qualifications

For this high-profile role, we’re seeking a driven and innovative change agent with:
  • Bachelor's degree, required
  • Masters Degree in Business, Nursing, or Healthcare Administration, highly desired
  • Three or more years of increasingly responsible experience in hospital management or hospital consulting
  • A proven track record in clinical operations, clinical program development, planning, and process improvement
  • In-depth knowledge of all elements of health care delivery
  • Understanding of patient and community needs
  • Expertise in patient care delivery, accreditation standards and the development and management of operational and capital budgets
  • Ability to effectively integrate functions to achieve business plans
  • A passion for quality, customer-centeredness, productivity and continuous improvement
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to develop a superior management team
  • Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills
