Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 

We are looking for a dynamic team player to join the Santa Monica team. In this position, you will position, lift, turn, transfer, and reposition patients requiring moderate to total assistance. You will work closely with nurses and medical staff to ensure quality care for patients. Other responsibilities include:

  • Equipment maintenance
  • Cleaning and disinfection
  • Assisting the department dispatcher as needed
  • Clerical duties

 

This is a part-time "as needed" per diem position; schedule and working hours will vary. May convert to Career.

 

Salary Range: $26.44 -$26.44 Hourly

Job Qualifications

 

  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
  • Understanding of basic medical terminology.
  • Experience in patient transport or lift team.  
  • Ability to transport patients in medical equipment using correct body mechanics.
  • Ability to follow established lift/transfer procedures in a safe and competent manner such as repetitive bending, stooping, squatting, standing, and sitting for long periods of time; and lift, push, and pull frequently up to 35 lbs without equipment. 
  • Interpersonal skills to interact diplomatically and sensitively with patients.
  • Ability to communicate in the English language. 
  • Maintain cooperative working relationship with co-workers and all hospital staff. 
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic computations.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to complete assignments in a timely manner.
