Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Mattel Children’s Quality Manager is a key figure in pediatric quality within the Health System, reporting to the Executive Director for Women and Children's Services. They play a crucial role in establishing and overseeing quality processes for pediatric services, striving for excellence in patient care. This role involves leading system-wide projects of significant importance, with outcomes that profoundly impact the organization's success.

As a respected quality analyst, the Specialist ensures compliance with regulatory standards such as those set by the American College of Surgeons, Title22, CMS, CDPH, and The Joint Commission. Collaborating with senior executives, physicians, and nursing leaders, they set benchmarks for clinical monitoring and propose plans to enhance pediatric quality in patient care.

The Specialist conducts complex QI reviews, particularly in cases of mortality, sentinel events, readmissions, and other high-level occurrences, including fast-track cases requiring immediate attention. They ensure that insights from these reviews are integrated into the QI plans of relevant clinical departments. With strong interpersonal skills, they collaborate effectively with clinical and technical staff, external regulatory agencies, and mentor lower-level QI staff. Operating with a high level of autonomy, the Specialist is instrumental in driving continuous improvement in pediatric care.

Salary Range: $105,200 - $250,600

Job Qualifications

We’re seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated nursing professional with:

• Current valid CA RN License, required

• Master’s degree , required

• Strong Quality reporting and data management skills, required

• BLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, required

• 3 years pediatric acute care med/surg experience, preferred

Previous quality experience, highly desired

Ability to perform all physical requirements pertaining to delegated nursing, PT/OT, and RT assisted tasks
