Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Medical Student Coordinator within the department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine will coordinate and maintain all of the medical student clerkships. You will also be expected to coordinate all aspects of recruitment. In addition, the Medical Student Coordinator will provide administrative support to the residency programs, education office, and program directors as needed.


Salary Range: $32.76 - $49.65/Hourly

Job Qualifications

Required: 

  • Investigative, data analysis, and reporting skills. Ability to generate computer reports, checking for errors, correcting and submitting accurate reports. Skills include entering, maintaining, extracting, and analyzing data in electronic systems. 
  • Skill in planning and organizing complex materials and information efficiently, skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are changes in workload, changes in assignments, pressures of deadlines, competitive requirements and heavy workload. 
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to develop working relationships within the department. 
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars/ schedules. 
  • Demonstrated writing skills to compose logical, detailed, comprehensive, and grammatically correct correspondence, procedures, and reports. 
  • Ability to work effectively and accurately with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clinical faculty, house staff, and medical students to provide guidance to basic policies and procedures, answer inquiries, and obtain information. 
  • Ability to function effectively as a team member, establish and maintain cooperative, professional, courteous, and collaborative working relationships with all departmental personnel, University representatives, house staff, and medical students. 
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction. 
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple supervisors. 
  • Ability to develop and provide resource information with respect to house staff and medical student training programs. 
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and by exercising good judgment. 
  • Ability to work occasionally after or before regular hours and on weekends to accommodate programs’ need. 
  • Skill in coordinating meetings, lectures, dinners, etc. 
  • Ability to prepare supply orders and payment/reimbursements requests on a timely basis. Demonstrated skill in operating various computer hardware, printers, and scanners. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases (WordPerfect, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) to prepare correspondences and reports. 
  • Ability to proctor exams. 
  • Knowledge of School of Medicine course policies and procedures. 
  • Knowledge of University personnel policies and procedures.
 

Preferred: 

  • Ability to understand and utilize medical terminology. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ERAS, ACGME, MedHub, QGenda, and other programs utilized by the residency/fellowship.
