Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Metadata Specialist designs, configures, customizes and implements the Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud software and data quality software tools in collaboration with Data Architecture, Informatics Architecture and other developers.  

In this role, you will:

  • design, develop, and tests customizations to the Collibra operating model leveraging ETL and API technologies to load datasets to support requirements for various data governance projects/use cases that serve analytical teams throughout the health sciences
  • ensure that all configurable processes and code are scalable and well-performing, and that the content of the data governance center is reliable
  • support workflow development and API integration activities
You will be required to be on-site at least once a quarter. 

Salary range:  $78,800 - $175,000 annually

Job Qualifications

Expertise in applying Enterprise Data Governance, Master Data Management concepts within practical implementations (with Collibra or other vendors)

Experience gathering data governance use case requirements and translating them to technical design documents

Experience in analysis, data relationships, data aggregation, and summarization with the ability to consolidate data from disparate systems is preferred.

Strong understanding of dimensional modeling and ETL design processes.

SQL programming skills, particularly for Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server to support Data Quality and metadata analysis

Experience with Python programming preferred

Exposure to software product configuration, requirements capture, configuration and deployment

Experience with Software implementation methodologies, Agile, SCRUM

Experience with Software Development Lifecycle and environment promotion

Experience with ETL/ELT, data warehousing/data marts and exposure to data services, API development and REST architecture

Ability to comprehend relationships among data field elements in the Epic electronic health record, such as flowsheets, notes, encounters, lab results, billing, and paid claims.

Undergraduate degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or other related field is preferred or relevant work experience

Work experience with health care data is required.

Some exposure with software implementation of healthcare data

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with business partners and business experts

Strong attention to detail
