Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The APP functions in interdependent role by implementing the appropriate SP in the same day clinic as well as infusion center, providing care for patients with various cancer diagnoses and oncological emergencies. By using the SPs, the APP is able to change treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior and physical condition and determines if they are abnormal findings. The APP will provider and coordinate the care of patients, provide patient/family education, promote safe continuity of care. The APP also participates in the interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provides education and support, as well as makes appropriate referrals. 

This is a per diem (50%) appointment in the Bowyer Oncology Same Day Clinic, weekends 

Salary range: $89.46/hourly

 

Job Qualifications

  • CA RN and CA NP License- required
  • MSN/ DNP in NP Specialty -required (Adult Acute Care NP Specialty - strongly preferred but will consider Adult NP, FNP or PCNP with extensive relevant Oncology exp)
  • National Certification in NP Specialty-required
  • BLS certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association- required
  • NP, State of CA NP Furnishing with Schedule II, Additional: NPI #, DEA #, Enrollment in PECOS, Enrollment in CURES-required
  • 5+ years of exp as an oncology certified nurse (experience in infusion center is a plus)-preferred
  • NP experience- preferred
  • Ability to utilize excel, word and other software programs -required
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnel -required
  • Skill in working independently and following through with minimum direction -required
  • Ability to set priorities -required
  • Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondence -required
  • Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner -required
