Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Join our team as an Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. This is a night shift position is for an Adult Acute Care (AG-ACNP) Nurse Practitioner that will be caring for cardiac surgery patients in the CTICU.

The NP functions in an interdependent role by implementing the appropriate Standardized Procedures (SPs). By using the SPs the NP is able to change treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior and physical condition and determines if they are abnormal findings (Ca Nursing Practice Act, subsection(b) of Section 2725).  The NP will provide and coordinate the care of patients, provide patient/family education, promote safe continuity of care.  The NP also participates in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provides education and support, as well as makes appropriate referrals and documents services rendered.

Salary range: 

NP2: $89.06- $127.19/hourly

NP1 (less than 6 mths NP exp): $80.33/hourly

Job Qualifications

  • MSN or DNP with Adult/Gero Acute Care NP specialty- required 
  • CA RN and NP certification, State of CA NP Furnishing with Schedule II- required
  • National NP Board certification in Adult-Gero Acute Care/Adult Acute Care NP specialty - required
  • NPI#, DEA#, Enrollment in PECOS, Enrollment on CURES- required
  • Surgical or Trauma ICU experience as an RN or NP - required.
  • BLS and ACLS from AHA or ARC- required
  • NPI (less than 6 months experience as a NP) If NPI, must have min of 3-5 years Surgical and/or Trauma ICU experience in RN role
  • NP1: less than 6 months NP exp
  • NP2: 6+ months NP experience
