The NP functions in an interdependent role by implementing the appropriate Standardized Procedures (SPs). By using the SPs the NP is able to change treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior and physical condition and determines if they are abnormal findings (Ca Nursing Practice Act, subsection(b) of Section 2725). The NP will provide and coordinate the care of patients, provide patient/family education, promote safe continuity of care. The NP also participates in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provides education and support, as well as makes appropriate referrals and documents services rendered.
The NP will provide support for all Extensivist current and future clinical sites (Westwood, Santa Monica, Torrance, Santa Clarita). The NP may also provide home visit support for Extensivist patients in the greater Los Angeles County.
Salary range: $84.82-$121.13/hourly
Job Qualifications

- CA RN and CA NP License, State of California NP, State of CA NP Furnishing with Schedule II, National Certification (i.e. ANCC)- Required
- Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Nursing in NP Specialty and NPI #, DEA # -required
- Enrollment in PECOS, Enrollment in CURES-required
- BLS from American Red Cross or American Heart Association-required
- Previous NP experience- required
- Experience with independently evaluating and managing patients in the ambulatory setting, especially those with complex medical conditions -required
- Experience with inbasket management to triage and manage new and existing problems -required
- Experience with chronic care management in the primary care or specialty setting (ambulatory) -required
- Experience working with hospitalized patients on a medical or intensive care service, as well as experience with home visits- preferred
- Ability to utilize excel, word and other software programs-required
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnel-required
- Skill in working independently and following through with minimum direction-required
- Ability to set priorities-required
- Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondence-required
- Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner-required
