Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Join the team as an Adult Acute Care NP for the Interventional Radiology: MRI-Cardiac Implantable Electrical Devices program.

Clinical role includes performing a history ad physical, evaluation of patients in with Implantable device(s), evaluating device for MRI capability, ordering imaging and labs, reprograming of implantable devices, labs interpretation, and performance of standardized procedures. 

NP performs history and physicals on complex cases requiring the use of advance knowledge and skills. Clinical role includes performing history and physical, evaluation of patients with implantable devices, evaluating MRI capability, ordering and interpreting labs, and reprograming of implantable devices.

This NP will perform health history , review of systems and physical examination. Formulate pertinent differential and working medical diagnosis (es). Formulate plan of care to include health promotion, protection and injury prevention measures. Communicate the plan of care to the patient, caregivers, and inter professional team to optimize coordination and implementation. Order medications and medical devices. Order therapeutic modalities. Refer and coordinate patient’s care with other health care professionals as needed. Provide consultation/collaboration upon request. Perform procedure(s) and obtain consent. Order*, review and/or interpret diagnostic studies. Provide follow up care as needed. Optimize throughput for patients. Engage in self-evaluation of practice. Serve as an advocate to facilitate ethical decisions. Collect and manage data on quality improvement to improve patient outcomes, e.g., readmissions, prevent adverse events. Implement actions to improve patient outcomes. Act as an expert in the area of specialty. Assess learning needs, devise teaching plans and provide direct patient care education regarding disease nature, onset, course, prognosis and treatment. Design, initiate and conduct educational classes for clinical nurses. Act as clinical preceptor to nurse practitioner students from affiliated schools of nursing. Develop and conduct in-service and community education programs. Provide teaching to fellows, residents, and interns, medical students, nursing staff and nursing students.

NP : salary range - $72.86/hourly

NP II: salary range - $80.78-$115.37/hourly

Job Qualifications

  • MSN/DNP with AG-ACNP  (Adult Acute Care NP) specialty- required
  • Cardiothoracic ICU, Electrophysiology or Interventional Radiology experience -preferred
  • Active CA RN and CA NP license.  Furnishing license, DEA required
  • National NP Board Certification -required
  • BLS from AHA or ARC-required
Ability to utilize excel, word and other software programs. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnel. Skill in working independently and following through with minimum directions. Ability to set priorities. Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondence. Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner.

  • ability to travel between the Westwood and Santa Monica campuses

    will consider New Grad NPs with solid IR and/or cardiac/ep procedures experience

    NPII: over 6 months experience as a NP
