Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Join the team as an Advanced Practice Provider (NP) for the Congenital Heart Program
The NP functions in an interdependent role by implementing the appropriate Standardized Procedures (SPs). By using the SPs the NP is able to change treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior and physical condition and determines if they are abnormal findings (Ca Nursing Practice Act, subsection(b)of Section 2725).  The NP will provide and coordinate the care of congenital heart patients, provide patient/family education, promote safe continuity of care.  The NP also participates in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provides education and support, as well as makes appropriate referrals and documents services rendered.

***This is one Advanced Practice Provider position within the Congenital Heart Program that will be filled be either a PA or NP**

Salary range: $89.06- $127.19 Hourly

Job Qualifications

  • CA RN and CA NP License- required
  • MSN/DNP with Pediatric Acute Care NP or FNP Specialty- required
  • BLS Certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross -required
  • National Certification in NP Specialty- required
  • A minimum of 2 years pediatric cardiac experience in a RN or NP role-required
  • Previous NP experience - required
  • State of CA NP Furnishing with Schedule II, NPI#, DEA#, Enrollment in PECOS, Enrollment in CURES- required
  • Ability to utilize excel, word and other software programs- required
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnel-required
  • Skill in working independently and following through with minimum directions -required
  • Ability to set priorities- required
  • Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed  and grammatically correct correspondence-required
  • Document patient care in an concise and comprehensive  manner-required


NPII: 6+ months experience as NP
