Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Are you interested in joining a dynamic, fast-paced environment? The incumbent will perform duties as an Operating Room Assistant to include: patient moving and transport, blood products, specimens, and equipment transport; equipment maintenance, room readiness, restocking supplies, cleaning soiled supplies, storing and distributing anesthesia support materials. Other duties include but are not limited to customer service and departmental efficiencies. The OR Assistant is under the direct supervision of the Clinical Support Manager and Supervisors. Assignments are given according to organizational goals.

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job: Ability to lift, carry, push or pull 50lbs. or more, constant (80-90% of the time)
  • Dexterity to operate equipment
  • Communication skills to take direction or instructions
  • Ability to articulate with a diverse and multidisciplinary team
  • Awareness of potential exposure to injury of hazardous materials
  • Knowledge of disinfectants germicide and sterilant
  • Knowledge of infection control, AORN, and AAMI standards related to job functions
  • Knowledge of government regulations: JCAHO, OSHA, Waste Management
  • Hospital Operating Room experience preferred
