Primary Duties and Responsibilities

UCLA Health is seeking an experienced Project Manager to work alongside of our best-in-class healthcare operations team. 

Reporting to the Sr Director Hospital Operations & Activation Planning, you will be responsible for project management on targeted, time-limited initiatives and leading corresponding process improvement activities throughout UCLA Health. In this role, you will participate in planning, facilitation, coordinating, and conducting necessary data analysis to ensure projects are managed effectively and completed in a timely manner. Further, you will also engage in data gathering and analysis, best practice research, process mapping, communication with leadership and stakeholder groups, and monitoring post-implementation outcomes. 

As our Operations Project Management Specialist, you will partner with various other technical teams and project managers to align overarching project deliverables, timelines, and help to reconcile constraints and limitations.  You may also join identified projects at various stages including from initial inception, during the procurement process, or during later stages of design or implementation.

Salary Range: $83,800 to $179,400 Annually

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • MHA, MPH, MBA Masters degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years professional experience within healthcare setting
  • Must have at least 2-3+ years of experience with project management work, project-focused work, or other management consultant-type roles
  • Preferred past experiences working directly with clinicians and front-line hospital providers, including doctors, nurses, therapists, technicians, etc.
  • Preferred experiences within academic medical centers or health systems with highly matrixed organizational structures
  • Working knowledge and application of healthcare financing, budgeting processes, and procurement processes
  • Strong abilities to lead groups in problem solving that addresses multi-faceted operational problems, identify root causes, and generate solutions that align with end-user needs and organizational direction.
  • Strong experience with change management, including at large scales including multiple stakeholders.
