Primary Duties and Responsibilities

We’re looking for a proactive and organized Supervisor to support our Retina clinic in Westwood! In this role, you will play a vital part in fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment by leading and supporting the administrative team. You will oversee daily operations, ensuring that both staff and patients experience a seamless and well-coordinated clinic workflow. Your leadership will help maintain a high level of teamwork, professionalism, and patient-centered service in this fast-paced, surgery-focused Ophthalmology practice. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise administrative staff, including hiring, training, staff scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Manage patient scheduling, insurance verification, and clinic workflow.
  • Manage provider schedules, office operations, and material inventory.
  • Oversee surgery coordination, including pre-op testing and patient counseling.
  • Provide backup assistance to the front office as needed to maintain excellent patient service.

Salary Range: $30.56-60.82 Hourly

Job Qualifications

Required:
  • Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience, including organizing workflow to accomplish established objectives, training staff, and evaluating staff effectiveness.
  • Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively coordinate the patient care activities of the practice.
  • Familiarity with computerized patient appointment scheduling and registration systems, preferably CareConnect.
  • Ability to follow-through with tasks under minimal supervision and ability to prioritize work effectively.
  • Ability to organize and maintain patient records efficiently.
  • Ability to perform under the stress of frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
Preferred:
  • Working knowledge of ophthalmology terminology.
  • Experience managing patient care activities in a medical practice.
  • Familiarity with patient billing practices, surgery scheduling systems, preferably with UCLA systems / CareConnect or ophthalmology, or both.
