Primary Duties and Responsibilities

As a Patient Service Representative, you will serve as a key connection point between patients, physicians, and the broader care team, helping to create a seamless and supportive healthcare experience. In this highly visible role, you’ll provide direct support to both primary and specialty care providers while ensuring patients feel guided and informed every step of the way.

You’ll act as a trusted liaison, coordinating communication between patients and physicians, assisting with navigation of services across the health system, and ensuring timely access to care. Your role will also include collaborating with referring providers, connecting patients to appropriate resources, and delivering attentive follow up through phone outreach and EPIC/Care Connect.

Salary Range: $30.36 - $43.49/Hourly

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with Faculty, Staff, Administration and patients from various social, cultural and economic backgrounds.
  • Ability to creatively integrate competing demands into a productive working environment.
  • Skill in verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems in both formal and informal situations.
  • Ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with a patient population in varying degrees of health.
  • Ability to provide coverage for Community Clinics as assigned.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of specific specialty practice and workflows.
  • Working knowledge of patient-related policies and procedures as well as a thorough understanding of the University system and its services and programs.
  • Knowledge of hospital computer system, and personal computer systems and the various software products to perform administrative work.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of authorization process & managed care programs.
