Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Physician Assistant (PA) will serve as a member of the medical care management team and be responsible for providing independent clinical assessment and patient care management services for Vascular Surgery patients across the continuum of inpatient and outpatient settings, including performing procedures within scope at the Vascular Procedure Unit (APU) and global health settings as appropriate. Responsibilities include performing history and physical examinations, triaging patients and accurately evaluating their vital signs, symptoms, and assessment findings. Additional functions include assisting in the operating room, collaborating with interdisciplinary team members, and setting up equipment and imaging modalities before and during surgical procedures. The PA will communicate with patients, families, and referring physicians and will serve as a clinical care extender of attending Vascular Surgeons. The PA will coordinate the care of patients, provide patient/family education, and promote safe continuity of care. The PA will also participate in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provide education and support to members of the patient care team, as well as make appropriate referrals. Vascular Surgery experience required, procedural experience preferred.

This is one APP role that will be filled as either a PA or NP


Salary range: 

PA $78.7- $105.90/hourly
Senior PA  (to be determined by relevant experience) : $86.52-$116.41/hourly

Job Qualifications

  • Degree from PA Program- required
  • CA PA License- required
  • National PA Board Certification-required
  • BLS from AHA or ARC- required
  • PA experience -required
  • Vascular experience- required
  • Procedure experience- strongly preferred
  • Self-direction and organizational skills to function in an independent role -required
  • Skill in physical assessment and care of surgical patients- required
  • Skill in teaching-required
  • Knowledge, skill, and ability to perform patient history and physical assessment-required
  • Skill and ability in written and verbal communication-required
  • Knowledge of interdisciplinary resources needed to coordinate patient care and facilitate referral-required
