The University of California, Los Angeles Health Ethics Center is seeking applicants for our two-year, full-time, Post-Doctoral Clinical Ethics Fellowship Program. The successful applicant will commit to a demanding clinical schedule, providing supervised clinical ethics consultation, on-call coverage, education throughout the UCLA Health system, assistance in developing institutional policies, service as a member of three ethics committees, and participate in the Center's scholarly and research activities.
The goal of our Fellowship Program is to provide individuals who have already demonstrated a high degree of academic achievement in the discipline of ethics with the necessary intensive clinical education, training and experience to function upon completion of the program as Professional Clinical Ethicists possessing advanced knowledge and skills competencies in clinical ethics consultation, education, policy development, and scholarship. In and through our Fellowship Program, the UCLA Health Ethics Center seeks to contribute in a meaningful way to the robust professionalization of our field.

***This is a 2-year contract effective August 18, 2025 – August 17, 2027***
Pay Range: UCLA Health's salary range for this title code is $83,800 - $179,400 Annually. Please note that the compensation for this Fellowship is approved as below:
- $90K - 1st year
- $95K - 2nd year
Job Qualifications

The successful candidate must have:
- Ph.D. in bioethics/healthcare ethics; or (2) a Ph.D. in moral philosophy/philosophical ethics with a bioethics/healthcare ethics related dissertation
- Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience in (bio)ethics at university-level and a demonstrated record of ethics publication in peer reviewed journals.
- a strong aptitude for clinical ethics, commitment to the professionalization of clinical ethics, and be able to demonstrate significant potential to become a leader in the field.
- the ability to integrate cross-cultural care, end-of-life/palliative care, psychosocial and spiritual care into clinical care is critical to this role.
