Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of Medicine is seeking a Program Manager to lead and implement key initiatives for UCLA Healthcare Value Analytics and Solutions (UVAS). This role is responsible for overseeing a dynamic portfolio of 10–25 projects, driving both short- and long-term strategic planning, and ensuring alignment with UVAS’s mission to enhance healthcare value and outcomes. The Program Manager will coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders, fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability. Using advanced project management tools and methodologies, the role involves setting clear goals, monitoring progress, proactively addressing challenges, and optimizing resources to achieve measurable results. Success in this position requires a balance of strategic insight, operational efficiency, and strong attention to detail to ensure high-impact, sustainable outcomes across all UVAS initiatives.

Annual range: $76,200-$158,800

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training 
  • Project/Program Management experience (minimum of 1 year)
  • Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.
  • Knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, basic fundraising processes risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines. 
  • Solid knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service. 
  • Thorough knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and / or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees

 

Preferred:

  • Thorough knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and / or personnel management
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP)
  • Master’s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
