Primary Duties and Responsibilities

As the Project Portfolio Manager for the UCLA Health’s Hospital Portfolio, you will oversee and execute design and construction projects while leading a team of project management professionals to ensure high standards and effective project delivery. Key responsibilities include:

Train and onboard new and existing employees, ensuring consistent performance standards.

Directly manage project management staff, including planning, assigning, and directing work.

Regularly meet with UCLA Health user groups to align project goals and requirements.

Oversee large studies within the Hospital Portfolio, contributing to the broader vision.

Develop test-fits, space plans, and master planning programs.

Represent UCLA Health on UC committees, serving as a key liaison.

Serve as an expert on Joint Commission, HCAI (OSHPD) Administrative Code, NFPA Codes, and California Building Codes related to planning, alterations, and renovation projects.

The full annual salary range for this position is $112,900.00 - $256,900.00/year. The department’s target pay range is $160,000.00 - $190,000.00/year. 


Job Qualifications

Proven experience with design development projects.
Demonstrated experience with multiphase or specialty construction projects.
Experience with large-scale relocation activities.
Working knowledge of building codes, accessibility regulations, California Building Code, Title 22, and HCAI (OSHPD) requirements.
Ability to develop schematic drawings from client-provided information.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, as well as working knowledge of CAD drawing programs, architectural design application programs, and Bluebeam.
Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated five years professional experience in healthcare architecture, engineering or construction. Master’s degree preferred.
Prior management experience preferred.
