Primary Duties and Responsibilities

In this role you will  provides age‑specific nursing care in an outpatient setting within the Cardiology Oncology department This role delivers both direct and indirect patient care, including telephone-based care, using the nursing process and collaborating with other healthcare team members. The RN accurately documents all patient information in accordance with clinic and institutional guidelines.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform direct and indirect patient care, including phone triage and follow-up, using the nursing process.
  • Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and care plans per clinic and institutional standards.
  • Conduct patient assessments and support clinical decision-making.
  • Provide patient and staff education as needed.
  • Prepare for and assist with medical‑surgical procedures.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately.
  • Process and manage medication refill requests and follow-up.
  • Perform venipunctures and administer IV infusions.
  • Respond and assist appropriately during medical emergencies.
  • Uphold UCLA Health System principles and consistently deliver high‑quality CICARE/Patient Experience practices.
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
  • Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.
  • Competency in medication administration, infusion therapy, venipuncture, and outpatient clinical procedures.
  • Commitment to providing excellent patient care aligned with CICARE standards.
Salary Range: $65.76 - $97.76/Hourly 

Job Qualifications

Required: 
  • BSN Required
  • Current valid CA RN License, required
  • BLS from the American Heart Association
  • Three (3) Years or greater adult Med/Surg or clinic experience as an RN
  • Ability to complete a high-level Nursing physical assessment
  • Knowledgeable in Medical-surgical nursing and nursing processes application. 
  • Skill in identifying problems and recognizing abnormal diagnostic findings and /or significant changes in patient’s condition. 
  • Ability to modify treatment and approaches and explain rational to patient and families.  
  • Ability to convey critical assessment data in a clear, concise manner to appropriate personnel.  
  • Skill in organizing material and information in a systematic manner to maximize efficiency and minimize duplicate effort.  
  • Ability to work effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload and frequent interruption
  • Skill in developing a plan of care including setting goals, monitoring and documenting progress
  • Ability to implement interventions that are pertinent to goals established in the plan of care
  • Ability to evaluate the effective of interventions toward the attainment of established goals and to recognize the need to reassess or reset goal parameters
  • Ability to delegate tasks in a management style that is consistent with promoting leadership and teamwork
  • Knowledge base to provide education to patients, families, and other staff regarding clinical and patient care issues
