Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The RN Practice Coordinator (RNPC) of Ambulatory Nursing Administration reports to the CNO/Director of Ambulatory Care Nursing. The Practice Coordinator will work independently and collaboratively in the assigned number of clinics and specialties minimum of ten clinics and above with the clinic managers and clinical staff to promote quality care and ensure consistency in clinical practices as they relate to regulatory standards, UCLA Health Ambulatory policies and procedures. In collaboration with the clinical management team, Department of Medicine Community Practices and other Faculty Practice group departments, the practice coordinator will provide support and appropriate direction their scope for patient care activities in accordance with organizational goals and objectives as directed. The Ambulatory RN Practice Coordinator is responsible for assisting with clinical quality, staff education and administrative coordination of nursing staff. The RN Practice Coordinator will promote quality care and ensure consistency in clinical practices. The position is a combination of clinical (direct care) and administrative responsibilities and RNPC Assumes nursing and administrative leadership responsibilities: The RNPC will be able to manage and demonstrates ability to delegate tasks in a management style that is consistent with promoting leadership and teamwork in the assigned clinics. RNPC will utilize competency knowledge base to provide education to clinical staff regarding clinical practice and patient care issues.

Salary range: $44.44-$87.93 Hourly

Job Qualifications

BSN Required, MSN Preferred 
Current valid CA RN License, required
Current BLS from the ARC or AHA, required 
Minimum of 3 of years supervisory/management experience – Ambulatory Care experience 
Ability to be flexible with working hours given adequate notice and in alignment with job demands
Ability to travel to multiple clinics
Knowledge of computer software application including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
Previous demonstrated expertise in supervising nursing staffing, medical Assistants and LVNs 
Previous demonstrated expertise in competency and training of medical Assistants , LVNs and RN in ambulatory settings 
Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations and procedures to define objectives, identify pattern and formulate conclusions.
Ability to creatively integrate competing demands of an outpatient setting into a productive working environment
Skill and experience in developing Quality Improvement and performance improvement process 
Interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with patients, staff and physicians
Ability to adapt and implement frequently changing procedures
Knowledge and familiarity with the Electronic Health Records, (EPIC) preferred
