Primary Duties and Responsibilities

In this exciting and rewarding position, your primary responsibilities as a clinical nurse include the direct nursing care of patients, utilizing process, development, and application of leadership, management, and communication concepts; teaching of patients and staff; maintenance of professional standards. The clinical nurse performs in the professional role described by the American Nurses Association (ANA). The clinical nurse’s roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing care in the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases of care. In the intra-operative phase of care, you will serve as a scrub and circulating nurse while providing direct patient care using the nursing process and evidence-based practice.  You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary professional team as you contribute to cutting-edge and innovative surgical procedures.  Our mission involves supporting research and education for staff and students.  In addition, the clinical nurse will be proficient with laser and/or minor procedures performed in the laser/minor procedure rooms. This role has a varied schedule, including call assignments on nights, weekends, and holidays at the Main OR (Ronald Reagan).


Salary Range: $62.43- $92.81

Job Qualifications

We're seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated nursing professional with:

·         Current California RN License- required

·         BSN or MSN- required

·         CNOR, CRNO, CPAN, CAPA, or CCRN- preferred

·         BLS, ACLS, PALS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association required

·         2 years or greater of ICU/ER/PACU/circulating and scrubbing experience- required

·         Eye surgery experience- required

· Ability to push, pull, and lift to 35 lbs. required

· Skills in implementing appropriate nursing interventions consistently

·         Ability to perform historical, physical, and behavioral patient assessments.

·         Ability to develop, implement,t and evaluate patient care actively involving patients, family, and staff

* On call on weekends and Holidays at the MAIN OR (Ronald Regan)

* Will rotate to PTU/PACU/Laser and Minor Procedure/OR
