Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Dietitian will provide and document dietary assessments, counseling, and treatment plans for metabolic genetics patients seen in the clinic and inpatient setting at UCLA Ronald Reagan. Will remain on-call for inpatient metabolic service during assigned call period. Will collaborate with family members and community representatives to encourage adherence to medically-necessary diets. Will collaborate and communicate with other members of the team, including doctors, nurses, genetic counselors, social workers, and other staff. Will assist with the inpatient metabolic formulary and assist in system-wide changes to pharmacy/nutrition policies. Will assist in obtaining necessary insurance authorizations. Will assist in managing metabolic Newborn Screening cases. Will participate in metabolic resaerch initiatives including the Urea Cycle Longitudinal Study . Will conduct and participate in clinical and educational activities. Will maintain all necessary licenses, certifications, and paneling

Job Qualifications

Licensed Registered Dietitian

Working knowledge of Computers including EMR systems

Demonstrated oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

Strong organizational skills

Ability  to work flexible hours

Demonstrated ability to be a team player

Skill in answering inquiries by phone, email and mail correspondence
