Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Our Santa Monica Hospital is seeking to hire a Research Assistant to join our Orthopaedic Surgery Department. You be part of our research team focused on characterizing translational regenerative medicine approaches for the treatment of orthopaedic/musculoskeletal injuries.  Primary duties include:

  • Managing lab equipment and supplies (inventory and maintenance)
  • Maintaining appropriate records of cell lines, samples, and nitrogen tanks
  • Storing and disposing chemical and biological waste
  • Assisting with preparation of equipment for survival surgeries
  • Assisting with vivo fluorescence and bioluminescence imaging
  • Participating in weekly lab meetings
  • Performing data collection, analysis, and quality checks
  • Maintenance of mouse colonies

Please note: this is a 5 month limited position that may convert to career

Salary range: $26.52/hr - $31.63/hr

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering related field (preferred)

Comfort working with lab animals

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs

Strong interpersonal skills

Skill in communicating clearly and effectively

Skill in analyzing information, problems, and situations to define problems effectively
