Primary Duties and Responsibilities

We are looking for a detail-oriented, dedicated, and responsible individual to provide research support and data administration for TIES for Families for data focusing on foster care families and mental health services. TIES for Families is an interdisciplinary, university-based program established in 1995 to promote the successful adoption, growth, and development of children with special needs, especially those with prenatal substance exposure who are in foster care. The research project will focus on collecting pre-, post- and ongoing 12 month data for children seen at UCLA TIES for Families to allow program evaluation for the impact of intervention services available to children and families, including adoption counseling for new families in transition, individual and family therapy, home-visiting, psychological testing, monthly parental and child support groups, short-term weekly therapy groups for children and teens, parenting skills training, infant mental health, and peer mentoring.

In this role you will:

  • Oversee and support research activities, including data collection, entry, and database management, while ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with research protocols. 
  • Serve as a liaison between research, administrative, and clinical teams to facilitate collaboration, communication, and workflow coordination. 
  • Oversee and mentor student volunteers and research assistants
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of research program infrastructure
  • Support administrative tasks essential to the execution of research projects.
Pay Range: $26.52 - $31.63 hourly. 

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Working knowledge and experience with MS Access, Word, Excel, and SPSS 
  • Demonstrated experience in research, including knowledge of research methods and terminology 
  • Knowledge of social science research, involving patient contact, consent, data collection, and data tracking 
  • Experience in data entry, data checking, data management, and data analysis 
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail 
  • Ability to work independently, sometimes under pressure, and work cooperatively with other staff members 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and patient information 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills necessary for maintaining the integrity of the study 
  • Ability to work in a timely manner and be flexible with schedules 
  • Ability to problem solve and trouble shoot issues and questions as they arrive
Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree in science related field.
