Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Support UCLA Health Medicare Advantage Plan sales across direct-to-consumer and agent distribution channels in assigned territory. You'll be accountable for meeting assigned sales and persistency targets while managing agent relationships, agency management, agent training, and organic growth.

You will:

• Coordinate outreach and sales activities across direct-to-consumer, agent channels, and physician engagement in assigned territory

• Develop sales opportunities through UCLA-generated leads and agent partnerships with presentations and enrollment processing

• Manage all aspects of agent recruitment and service in assigned territory with training and coaching

• Maintain strong working knowledge of benefit structure, CMS Sales and Marketing Compliance, and California administrative code

• Develop and execute key agent and provider strategies, tools, training, and collateral that enhance sales

• Manage specific clinic locations in assigned territory to drive leads that convert to enrollments

• Maintain active and engaged presence at industry conferences, trade shows, and community events


Salary Range: $95,400 -$208,300/annually

Note: This position requires you to travel 3 to 5 times a week (70%) within Los Angeles County. 

Job Qualifications

We’re seeking a detail-oriented, interpersonal individual with:

Required:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience
  • 8 or more years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience, preferably in a health plan setting
  • Health plan or Medicare Advantage experience, highly desired
  • Expert knowledge of healthcare and Medicare insurance products, including current and emerging offerings 
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to builds strong relationships with agents, providers, community partners, and internal stakeholders 
  • Interprets federal and state laws and compliance rules applicable to Medicare Advantage products 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage a large territory and multiple priorities
  • Identifies market trends, customer needs, and competitive conditions to guide business development and product inputs 
  • Excellent customer service to brokers and consumers across all channels
  • Ability to travel 3 to 5 times a week 
Preferred: 
  • Experience using Salesforce or other CRM platforms to track leads, activities, and sales progress
  • Ability to navigate complex sales environments with advanced negotiation and influencing techniques
