Primary Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking to hire a per diem Scribe to assist the Orthopaedic Surgery Physicians. You will provide various administrative assistance of patient care in our Orthopaedic Clinics in Westwood, Santa Monica, and South Bay. Primary duties include:

  • Updating patients medical record on Care Connect
  • Following up on laboratory and x-ray results
  • Patient admission, transfers, and discharges
  • Assisting in chart auditing (ensuring completeness and maintaining/updating work queue log)
  • Assisting with patient flow by checking on results of diagnostic studies, arranging dispositions, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

May convert to career role 

Salary: $24.86/hr

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree (preferred)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Previous Scribe experience (preferred)
  • Ability to distinguish different exams and medical diagnosis
  • Ability to handle confidential material
  • Ability to organize and track multiple records and requests
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge and skill using various computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and basic database software
  • Knowledge of E&M codes
  • Ability to proofread detailed material
  • Ability to speak clearly and distinctly to obtain and convey information
  • Ability to work flexible schedule which may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
