Primary Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, you will work under the general supervisor of the Chief Radiation Therapy Technologist and your functions will include:

  • Applying ionizing radiation according to MD's prescription
  • Patient scheduling and appointments
  • Performing dose calculations and basic nursing duties
  • Treatment data entry
  • Working with physicians, physicists and dosimetrists to perform simulations and treatment planning CT's

This position will be working in Downtown Los Angeles, Santa Clarita, Santa Monica and Westwood locations, as well as other future sites as assigned


Candidates with less than 5 years of experience are welcome to apply. 

Salary: $66.04 - $87.12 hourly for Senior Radiation therapist. 

Radiation Therapist Salary: $61.60 - $81.28 hourly.

Job Qualifications

Required:
  • ARRT License
  • CRT License
  • 5 or more years radiation therapy technologist experience
  • BLS/CPR from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Skill in working with different types of treatment machines such as MR Scanner, CT Scanner, HDR units and Linear Accelerators and ability to recognize when hazardous conditions may exist
  • Truebeam, Tomotherapy, Novalis, CT and MR guided RT experience
  • Ability to lift cerrobend blocks weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Working knowledge of University procedures regarding isolation of immuno-suppressed patients.
  • Knowledge of the principles and applications of thermo-luminescent dosimeters.
  • Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are changes in workload, machine breakdowns, heavy patient volume and emergency cases.
  • Skill in inspecting treatment machines to assure they conform to present standards.
  • Skill in working with different types of treatment machines such as MR Scanner, CT Scanner, HDR units and Linear Accelerators and ability to recognize when hazardous conditions may exist.
  • Knowledge of basic nursing procedures
  • Knowledge of basic physics as applicable to Radiation Therapy.
  • Ability to use an electronic calculator to perform dose calculations.
  • Skill in reading documents written with medical terminology and ability to read and implement computer-generated physics treatment plans.
  • Working knowledge of University procedures regarding isolation of immuno-suppressed patients.
