The Staff Research Associate will support Lawrence Lab (Lawrence-lab.org) research in the areas of cell culture and cell signaling, and with experience will have the opportunity to contribute to research projects in the lab and to author publications. Responsibilities include cell culture of mammalian cell lines including human cancer cell lines and human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), as well as iPSC-derived astrocytes. The work will also involve basic molecular biology approaches such as cloning of plasmids, preparation of buffers and solutions, RT-PCR, immunostaining, RNA FISH, immunostaining and immunoblotting, and the keeping of weekly summaries of experiments and cell lines. The work will also involve live cell imaging, the generation of modified induced pluripotent stem cell lines and genomics analyses such as DNA methylation mapping. The incumbent will be required to coordinate and work together as a team with undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs, and project scientists.
