Primary Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, you will work closely with UCLA faculty and research staff and serve as a key team member for the operation and expansion of our high-throughput antibody screening platform. Our custom designed platform consists of a centralized robotic scheduler integrated with several high throughput instruments (e.g., Tecan Fluent). You will also maintain and troubleshoot our current LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) database, therefore a basic understanding and working experience with SQL database management and network engineering is desirable. Desirable laboratory bench skills include hands-on experience with tissue culture and antibody screening using advanced ELISA techniques and flowcytometic (FACS) and SONY cell sorting methods of murine and human cell lines. The Staff Research Associate will be responsible for ordering laboratory consumables as well as training students or staff on the above equipment. This position offers a valuable and specialized experience that offers hands-on training and maintenance of specialized software applications and high-end instrumentation.


Salary offers are determined based on various factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, and equity. UCLA Health hourly salary range for this position is $28.88 - $46.46.


Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience in biology, computer science, or related area.
  • Ability to maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
  • Skill in using PC and Mac computers and commonly used software applications.
  • Ability to organize raw data into relevant formats.
  • Ability to communicate well, work in a team, organize time and keep a detailed notebook.


Preferred:

  • Experience in tissue culture procedures.
