Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Major duties of the Staff Research Associate (SRA) will include the acquisition, management, and analysis of functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) data in studies using transcranial electrical stimulation (tES). Primary activities include preparing tES electrodes, supplies, and other study-related materials, data management (paper and digital), computer-based MRI analysis requiring programming skills (i.e., Matlab, BASH/UNIX-shell), and assisting with data collection after receiving appropriate training and certification. Duties will further involve interacting with undergraduate researchers, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, and faculty, both one-on-one and during scheduled meetings to facilitate study progress.

Salary Range: $26.51 - $31.63/Hourly

 

Job Qualifications

All Required:

  • Interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact, communicate, and work as a team member with the academic, research and administrative staff, students, and database and information systems personnel.
  • Skills in working independently, ability to establish priorities to meet deadlines and accomplish established goals.
  • Knowledge and experience using standard software programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of computer programming/scripting (e.g., Matlab, Bash/Unix).
  • Knowledge and experience using image/EEG analysis software programs such as EEGlab, and/or other programs.
  • Experience in quality control of EEG and/or MRI images of the human brain.
  • Demonstrated experience with data management and recording.
  • Knowledge of neuroanatomy, neuroscience, biomedical and electrical engineering, and/or related fields.
