Primary Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a full-time Staff Research Associate IV (SRA IV) to join the G.O. Discovery Lab, a cutting-edge gynecologic oncology research laboratory led by Dr. Sanaz Memarzadeh. The lab focuses on uncovering the molecular basis of epithelial cancer formation, progression, and treatment.

Under the guidance of the principal investigator, the SRA IV will independently plan and execute experiments using cell lines, animal models, and a variety of diagnostic and functional assays to investigate the molecular, cellular, and genetic mechanisms driving gynecologic cancers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing basic and advanced molecular biology and cell culture techniques, including tissue culture, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, single-cell proteomics, and transcriptomics.
  • Working on high-throughput drug screening to identify small molecule and immunotherapy treatment candidates.
  • Collaborating with the PI on manuscript and grant proposal preparation, including method annotation, data interpretation, and contributing to the analytical, strategic, and technical aspects of planning and writing.
  • Designing, planning, and conducting both in vitro and in vivo experiments.
  • Making innovative contributions to ongoing research projects.

Required:

  • 5 or more years of post-graduate wet lab research experience (some can be as part of advanced degree program), strongly preferred to be in a cancer/oncology environment.
  • MS in biomedical/life science field or equivalent experience. (candidates with PhDs are preferred)
  • Experience or knowledge in one or more of cancer, immunology and translational research
  • Demonstrated experience in common and modern molecular, cellular and genomic techniques in laboratory environment including flow cytometry, IHC, proteomics, transcriptomics.

  • Ability to perform work carefully and precisely so that meaningful data is collected in a manner which can be reproduced in this and other laboratories.
  • Ability to conduct multiple experiments in close temporal proximity.
  • Ability to understand experimental design and goals of study.
  • Ability to seek out and read scientific literature to solve all levels of research problems, to read and understand the current scientific literature and to use existing experimental protocols as guidelines
