Primary Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Laboratory Manager to oversee daily operations and lead specialized experiments in antibody and B cell immunology, focusing on humoral immunity to malaria and other infectious diseases. Under the guidance of the Principal Investigator, you will manage tissue culture areas, maintain critical lab equipment, and ensure the proper stocking of supplies.

You will supervise lab technicians, ensuring smooth operations, and collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator on data analysis and publication efforts. Additionally, you will conduct literature reviews, develop new lab techniques, and contribute to special research projects. This role offers the opportunity to grow as an independent lab manager and assistant researcher, with a strong focus on advancing immunology research.

Salary: $5,912.52 - $9,509.10 per month


Job Qualifications

Required:
  • BS degree in a biological science
  • Knowledge of the T cell immunologic assays (chromium release assays, cell cloning, immunomagnetic separation)
  • General immunology assays (ElISA, ELISPOT)
  • Ability to design experiments with guidance from the Primary Investigator
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment, and supplies; maintenance of appropriate inventories and stock.
  • Ability to understand technical journals, instruction manuals, scientific texts, and other laboratory-related materials
  • Working knowledge of personal computer operation, including MS Word and MS Excel software programs, literature searches, journal article downloads
  • Reading skills to comprehend technical text and written procedures.
  • Skill in organizing and managing data using a database management system.
  • Skill in creative graphic outputs of data.
  • Working knowledge of medical immunology terms.
  • Skill in laboratory safety protocols including proper handling of radioisotopes and biohazardous substances, including chemicals, blood products, tissues and HIV EBV and vaccinia.
