Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Stuart House is an internationally recognized model program created by the Rape Treatment Center to serve the special needs of sexually abused children and their families. Stuart House provides evidence-based, trauma informed, and culturally centered therapeutic services.

As a Stuart House therapist, you will provide mental health services for children who are suspected victims of sexual abuse and their non-offending family members, including intake evaluations, comprehensive diagnostic assessments, crisis intervention, and individual, family, and group treatment services. Provision of clinical/psychological assessment supervision and training may be expected. You will also participate in the Rape Treatment Center/Stuart House’s 24-hour on-call response system, provide on-call telephone intake, in-person advocacy, crisis intervention, accompaniment and information/referral services for victims and significant others who present for emergency medical care/forensic examinations (1 – 2 weekday overnight shifts per month).

Salary Range: $46,000.00 - $166,400.00 Annually

Job Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology (Ph.D./Psy.D.) and CA State license-eligible. 
  • Experience providing trauma informed therapy services to children who are suspected victims of sexual abuse and their families. 
  • Competent in conducting psychological evaluations for children and adolescents. 
  • Possess advanced knowledge of child development, sexual trauma, complex trauma, evidence-based treatment modalities, and solid diagnostic and crisis intervention skills. 
  • Ability to function collaboratively as a team member and establish effective communication with clients and staff.

Preferred: Experience supervising and/or training students; bilingual (Spanish-English).
