The Semel Institute is seeking a Student Lab Assistant to support ongoing neuroscience research activities. This position provides valuable hands-on experience with a variety of laboratory techniques, including dissections, genotyping, RNA extraction, and tissue sectioning. The selected candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in weekly journal club meetings featuring in-depth discussion of scientific literature. Additional responsibilities include supporting daily lab operations by maintaining a clean and organized workspace, ensuring proper storage of supplies, and assisting with routine laboratory tasks such as autoclaving and preparation of chemical solutions.
Hourly range: $17.90-$47.00
Job Qualifications

Required:
- Undergraduate student - at least a sophomore standing in the life sciences
- Ability to communicate well and follow instructions.
- Ability to perform simple chemical calculations such as molarities and percentage.
- Registered as a UCLA student
Preferred:
- Organization skills
