Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Semel Institute is seeking to hire a UCLA Student part time to complete the duties of  Student Worker 2. 

In this role you will:

  • Interact appropriately and congenially with all staff, faculty, consultants, program directors, students, volunteers and the public.
  • Use strong computer skills, proficiency in the full suite of Microsoft Office programs, especially Microsoft Excel, to send information to project staff and programs chosen for review and record results.
  • Enter data into Excel databases.
  • Check data and forms for quality control.
  • Practice good phone skills and diligent recording of results to reach out to schedule program reviews of substance use disorder and mental health treatment programs.
  • Assist in gathering information for reports and recording consultant invoices as they come in.
  • Work with Principal Investigator to establishing priorities and complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Work independently on assigned project tasks.
  • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust workload.
  • Use knowledge of University library system to obtain information needed for the project.

Pay Range: $17.60 - $29.00 hourly

Job Qualifications

  • Pre-Med/Psychiatry, Neuroscience, and Psychology majors/minors preferred.
  • Minimum commitment is 15-20 hours per week.
  • Able to work independently and pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to appropriately interact by phone and Zoom with treatment program staff members.
  • Ability to write clearly, concisely, and grammatically correct notes and memos.
  • Basic ability to operate photocopier, telephone systems, fax machines, and other general office equipment.
  • Flexibility to move from one task to another based on interruptions and changing priorities.
  • Willing to sign a confidentiality agreement.
