Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of Surgery is seeking to hire a full time Project Policy Analyst 4 to complete the duties of Surgical Quality Improvement Specialist. In this role you will be responsible for the planning, development, and execution of all operations to meet the mission and goals of the departmental Quality Improvement initiatives.

  • Production of all deliverables, planning and coordination, strategic planning, and communication. 
  • Plans and executes all program/project activities, works independently and in teams including external collaborators, in a high volume fast-paced environment, communicates effectively, supervises staff, understands and ensures compliance with UCLA, state, and federal regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned. 
 
Pay Range: $83,800.00 - $179,400.00 annually. 

Job Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree or 5-7 years of experience. 
  • Ability to work independently and also have interpersonal skills to work with teams, provide training, and supervise staff 1+ years’ experience of supervising laboratory personnel and operations. 
  • Exceptional writing skills to produce wide range of documents and deliverables. 
  • Experience communicating effectively and professionally and working with a variety of internal and external partners, including UCLA administrators, outside funders, policy makers and community representatives. 
  • Strong organizational skills to successfully work on and track complex programs involving short deadlines and multiple tasks, in coordination with multiple teams to achieve program/project mission and goals. 
  • Working knowledge of program/project development, evaluation, creating datasets, financial management and reporting, research principles including CITI training, grant writing and proposal submission, University procedures and policies, program/project related federal and state regulations.
  • Ability to seek out and learn new policies, procedures, and software to advance the mission of the program/project. 
  • Ability to train new program/project managers and other staff within and external to the unit. 
Preferred:
  • Master’s degree or 3-5 years of experience.
