Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Sustainability Programs Manager and indirectly to the Admin Dir of Sustainability, the Sustainability Program Analyst will support the Sustainability Department by interacting with relevant clinical and support departments to collect data and perform statistical analyses of sustainability indicators for current programs to determine their effectiveness and progress toward stated objectives. The role supports department leadership in analyzing sustainability program progress and success and identifying and recommending initiatives based on data review. The analyst will develop and document methodologies and make efforts to standardize the data collection and analysis process. The Sustainability Program Analyst will ensure reporting is current, accurate, and that evolving data metrics remain relevant, continuing to align with or exceed the goals of the UC Sustainable Practices Policy and Practice Greenhealth metrics. The position also creates and updates website content, program dashboards, event logistics, and educational materials, along with other program support. The Analyst will be responsible for supporting the integrated waste management program by reviewing invoices and administering vendor relationships, organizing and conducting waste audits and assessments, and liaisoning with internal and external parties to ensure compliance, efficiency, and savings. Work will be performed in an office or clinical setting, at various UCLA Health locations as designated. The analyst will follow all policies and procedures set by the Medical Center and the University.  


Salary Range: $76,200 - $158,800 / annually

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in one of the following areas: Environmental Science, Business/Economics, Business Administration, Statistics, Climate Change, Public Health, Sustainability or a similar field or relatable work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as analyst, report preparation and writing.
  • Ability to present a pleasant and customer-oriented demeanor at all times. 
  • Strong attention to detail and proficiency with data reporting systems: Excel, Tableau, EnergySTAR, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office tools in order to analyze data, type correspondence, prepare reports and presentation of materials. 
  • Working knowledge of UC sustainable practices policies, current environmental concerns (e.g. climate change), and healthcare sustainability challenges. 
  • Strong composition and writing skills, including knowledge of correct English grammar, spelling, punctuation, proofreading, and usage, in order to write clear, concise and logical correspondence, reports, summaries, notes and instructions. 
  • Experience in change-management, process improvement, and public speaking. 
  • Ability to compile, review, and analyze complex data and compile summary reports and recommendations based upon conclusions drawn from data review. Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive personnel information. 
  • Skill in establishing priorities to complete work in a timely manner despite changes in workload or assignment, pressures of deadlines, or competing requirements
Preferred
  • Preferred Minimum of 2 years in healthcare and familiar with medical terminology.
  • LEED GA Certification.
